Word Up Weekend

So this weekend my post is, hopefully, an inspiring card! We over at Stampotique just had a release and this beautiful tree-line was one of the new stamps. What I love about this stamp is that it could be used for literally any and all seasons, serious and not...very versatile. The sentiment is also from Stampotique from our May release.

Can you see the snow? It is 3-D! I love my snow pen. Color where you want the snow or the puffiness to be and activate with your heating tool and poof! Snow! Or icing...or...whatever!
For my background I used Lindy's Stamp Gang products. We collaborated with them a few months ago and I loved their products so much that I ordered more. So I used sprays as watercolors and also used magical shakers and the sidewalk chalk white magical. SO excited with the way it all turned out!
So yea, there you have it! Word up weekend and watercolors!! Makes a happy stamper! Be sure to pop over to Stampotique's Facbook page too to see more wonderful words and projects! Each weekend there is something new!

SDC 276 Stencil It!

This month Stampotique is collaborating with Eileen Hull. We were given some very wonderful die cuts to play with, not the least of which was this wonderful Passport Book cut. I admit, I was a bit perplexed at first as, I have never bound a book in my life. It was for certain a learning curve, but in the end I am pleased with the results.
I decided to create a recipe book/journal. I used one of our new release images from Daniel Torrente at Stampotique. Don't you just love this adorable stove?? It has myriad possibilities.
I used several stencils on this book and I love how each page turned out. The words were created using our Alphabet Background. I stamped the background and then cut each stamped letter out to create each word. I regret that my ink was running low, but I kind of like the distressed look.
For the first two pages I, of course, used stencils, also an envelope and more stamps. I used Tera Callihan's Cupcake Girl from Stampotique and more words from my alpha stamping. I love how the cupcake girl pops off of the stenciled background.
So for this page, of course, more stenciling as well as Stampotique's cupcake (from Terri Richardson). How much more perfect could a cupcake be for a food book? Especially one this scrumptious! See the tab here and the latch and label on the book? Those also came with the journal from Eileen.
I like how happy and cheerful the book is. .Would make me want to cook! And I am not that good of a cook, haha. Just ask my little boy! ;)

Be sure to check out the rest of the design team as well. Lots of beautiful work to be sure! Also, make sure you join our Facebook page in order to see much more inspiration as well as ATC swaps monthly!

Word Up Weekend

I'm Baaa-aaaakkk!!! So this weekend I have another wonderfully snarky sentiment from Stampotique.

For this card I went simple and classic. I wanted it to look serious and then...BAM...you read the sentiment. HA.  If you can look close you can see I used vellum over watercolor.

I even pulled out the eyelets for this one!! This card turned out so fun! And you can't help but laugh at the sentiment. Lick the windows. Haha. Silliness.

Hope you have a great weekend, SUNSHINE!

Word Up Weekend!

Hello!! Its that fun time again where you learn how many amazing Stampotique sentiments there are! This project also happens to double as a texture ATC project. I love that Stampotique has ATC swaps every month.  Click the link and join! SO many talented artist participate each month! <3

So for my texture I used texture paste with a stencil (colored the paste with Lindy's) and then I used green flocking on the feathers.
I used Kassa's feather stamps in conjunction with Dina Wakely's flying bird stencil. I water-colored the feathers and then added a touch of flocking to them. Looking at them now, they also could double as ferns. I liked the words from the "barcode" stamp set (stampotique). Not sure why, but the popped out at me.
I tried to get a side view so you can see the texture. I tried to make the paste extra thick too. After not being overly inspired when I started, I really like the end result. I hope whomever I am partnered with likes them a well.
Happy weekend!!!

June Release and Word Up Weekend

I am back and it is not only Word Up Weekend but we just had another wonderful release at Stampotique! Loads of new, fabulous stamps to be had, but 2 of my favorites are these two feathers.

I also used an older sentiment for my words this weekend. They belong with these feathers, wouldn't you say? I used ink sprays and gelatos for the background here and used gelatos to make the feathers and words pop a bit with just a sprinkling of bling. This card is all wrapped up in whimsy.

Be sure to pop over to the Stampotique website and check out all of our latest images! Happy weekend!
